This probably has been gone over before, but i looked for a thread about it and couldnt find n e thing. so, im going to ask. How do you remove wax off of your molding, i didnt notice before, but after it rained the other day, you could see if all over it, and it looks really bad, is there a special way to get it off? And in the future do you guys tape of the moldings or take them off when you wax you car?

I'm just careful not to hit my moldings (or if there is a good chance I will, I'll tape them off).

As for removal, I'd suggest using an eraser (the softer pink type) or I've also read peanut butter works very well.

Mr Clean Magic Eraser, Erasers, or Peanut Butter should all do the trick just use whichever you already have.

Removing wax residue from black molding? Yes, peanut butter does work. I've done it. No trace of wax at all after. :coolquick

once you get the wax off, wipe them down with acetone & spray paint them with krylon fusion spraypaint. i did it on mine a few weeks ago. if you get the satin finish version, the moldings look brand new every day.

I used a molding cleaner called "Back to Black". It removed the wax
from my moldings and restored an awesome shine. Its cheap and works great.

Believe it or not, I have had good success with using Rain-X to remove wax on black trim. I discovered it by accident, but it seems pretty effective. Just get some Rain-X on a rag and give the trim a little scrub.

Your moldings are very easy to take off. Do that then use penut butter. It's a lot faster than the eraser, but either will work.

Do this. Just a light coat on them and you'll never have to clean them again.

id go with the toothpick, so that the alcohol doesnt remove the wax that is where it is supposed to be.
