I beat the rain also by about 10 minutes. Glad to see as many people show up as they did. I nice mix of cars. The E30 M3 is hard to beat. Thanks again to Dan for getting it off the ground.

Missed the rain, but while I did a decent wash/clean/mild detail beforehand, you should see my car, the bugs are insane. Even worse than when I got there. Oh well, I have been wanting to strip and put on fresh wax.


Sorry I had to leave early, I only got home 30 mins. ago. I had fun, but it was a long trip (400 miles round trip).

By the way, I love the shot of the M3 and my 318's rear ends together, that is a great shot. It was really cool seeing them both side by side like that.


Also, anyone get pics of the gray e30 with the painted wheels, I think it is Black90325i's car. My brother would like a shot of it, I think he fell in love with it. If you ever want to sell it, give me a shout, he would probably be interested.

Here's the story with eric,
We call and ask where to meet him and tell him we approaching an exit an he replies "Oh, Yea, I can see you now!" so blake and I look around and out of nowere Eric "pops" onto the on ramp flying by us (we're doing 80+) and he passes at least 3 cars on the shoulder/ breakdown lane. Garrett(navigator) and I look at each other like, What The HEll! Erice then cuts 3 lanes over and we start doing 90mph the whole time to KC trying to keep up with him!:buttrock :buttrock :buttrock

It is a trick hot rodders use.

It is called quick detail
Meguiars and Blue Magic make it. I used the Blue Magic. It also comes in clay bar kits, which was what that was from.

You can actually make it yourself, take some Meguiars car shampoo (1/4-1/2 teaspoon), and mix with water in a spray bottle. Same stuff as quick detail and far cheaper.

Just spray on and wipe off.


Whiel I consider it a touch up system, as it was designed for, some unscrupulous people are now marketing this as a "waterless car wash system".

Alrite, here they are, unmodified, unmolested, and in no particular order. These are the *few* (yes, this is actually only a few) that I chose out of the metric ton I took. I even threw in some blurry pics just to prove the camera finally ran out of batteries, couldnt keep the shutter open long enough for extended exposures ;) Some suck, some don't, u be the judge:

I wish, I was dodging cops the whole way there and back just trying to maintain 80-85.

I did have one close call going home. I stopped for gas, got back on and you guys know how we all love on-ramps... I was doing 90+ when I noticed a cop followed me on a bit further back. Not sure how he missed me, but all was good. I swear my car is stealth.

Next time I expect to have a V1 pig detector with me, should make for an easier run. I kinda spent my detector money (as well as my Miata money) on the stereo system friday before the meet.

Had a full size grasshopper clobber my elbow at about 75 or so in my pickup... It exploded. Better him than me! Left a welt and a hell of a mess though.


You're a braver man than I am.
No way would I ride a bike through bug country, rain/sprinkles on bare skin is bad enough at any decent speed.

It is just Lamin-x, ordered it from www.lamin-x.com. They are pre-cut for heads and fogs, I have clear on the fogs to keep them from breaking. They are less than $30 shipped per set. Just peel and stick in about 5 minutes. They have yellow, clear, blue and smoke. If you get to hating them you can take them off.

to be honest, there's days I think they are cool/original and days that I hate them.


I chose purple because local law states that red or blue lights up front is a :nono (for emergency vehicles ONLY) and green or yellow just was NOT an option for my car (not that I couldn't have gotten them that color).


I think I paid like four bucks for both the ccfl tubes online. They are the same CCFL tubes you'd see in a modded PC case.

true dat.. they are original.. but sometimes reason why u see the same stuff on 5k other bimmers, is because people like the same taste on there vehicle.. though there are some that buy to jump on the bandwagon of what is trendy and so on..

When you forst see them you think his HID's are 30,000K they look awsome!
Can you mold them or would they break?
And also I was meaning to look at how you wired them?? Any photos?

Not that my paint is perfect (especially since I didn't make any pics), but that is the first time that rain has hit my paint in three years, I was a little sad...gotta clean up that suspension ;)
