Go over it with 3M Trizact Hookit II 3000 Grit Sanding Disks, you'll need a DA. It will smooth out the sanding scratches even more and make it easier and faster to polish out.

is that the sand paper with little squares? I diddnt know they made 3000 thats sweet.
what kinds/cut of polishes work best. I have been using turtle wax green then 3m rubbing compound then 3m scratch remover then scratch-x then wax. but I don't think thats the best way

My account is too new to post a url, or I'd link you to the how-to I just wrote on Autopia. Anyway, for locally available polishes I would pick up some Megs 83 (aka DACP) and some 80 (aka speed glaze), and apply the 83 by a cutting pad (might take two passes by hand or PC) then follow with the 80 to remove the hazing.

If you're shopping online you have a ton of options. Sonus SFX, Optimum, Poorboys line, Menzerna...
