View Full Version : the best system for after wet sanding promp3 04-22-2006, 06:30 AM I have been using a random asortment of products I wet sand with 2000 grit and it really takes a long time to get a shine back I was wondering what the best products to use in steps after wet sanding croberts12 04-25-2006, 07:14 PM bump. Mr.Cosmos 04-25-2006, 07:51 PM Go over it with 3M Trizact Hookit II 3000 Grit Sanding Disks, you'll need a DA. It will smooth out the sanding scratches even more and make it easier and faster to polish out. promp3 04-26-2006, 09:04 AM is that the sand paper with little squares? I diddnt know they made 3000 thats sweet. what kinds/cut of polishes work best. I have been using turtle wax green then 3m rubbing compound then 3m scratch remover then scratch-x then wax. but I don't think thats the best way taseal 04-27-2006, 06:03 AM I wish I knew how to wet sand... my hood could REALLLYYYY use it :( its color is SO dull... :( picus 04-27-2006, 04:58 PM My account is too new to post a url, or I'd link you to the how-to I just wrote on Autopia. Anyway, for locally available polishes I would pick up some Megs 83 (aka DACP) and some 80 (aka speed glaze), and apply the 83 by a cutting pad (might take two passes by hand or PC) then follow with the 80 to remove the hazing. If you're shopping online you have a ton of options. Sonus SFX, Optimum, Poorboys line, Menzerna... Landerholm 04-27-2006, 04:59 PM Poorboys is very good. croberts12 04-27-2006, 09:03 PM I dont understand half of what people are saying. I need serious help. I have a PC and where can I purchase the stuff I need all these numbers make no sence to me yet. picus 04-27-2006, 09:16 PM You need to check out autopia.org and do some reading :) If you have any specific questions let us know I'm sure someone here has the answer! croberts12 04-27-2006, 09:27 PM I am googleing like everything I can find and I almost got all this figured out. Thanks, sorry for jacking this thread. go back to your regular business. DECOY 04-29-2006, 12:16 AM What Picus said! |
