I need some advice on removing tape residue from my moldings with scratching it up. I had to place some tape on my molding as a temporary solution to keep my window up and the tape left some residue on the molding. I was able to get it off the window easily, but the molding is another story all together. Of course I use duct tape so it doesn't look too pretty right now. It's not big, but it's annoying to look at it.

Besides using a razor blade, I would get some kind of gunk remover and a stiff dish pad and just go to town on it.

Goo Gone, rubbing alcohol or something else close that that should take it off. Rub on and off witha rag and you should be set. Repeat if it's tough but I don't think I'd use anything harsh like a stiff dish pad, that's more likely to scratch up your moldings.

+1 Goo Gone, just did that about 2 weeks ago on another car. Takes a little time depending how long the tape was on there, but it works great.
Dont forget to wash the car VERY well when done, then I would polish, and wax.

you can try claying or use a wet microfiber towel.

Cool, thanks for the help guys. Going to pick some Goo Gone up ASAP. The tape was on there for like three days. I tried the rubbing alcohol already and had no success with that.

Goo Gone was made for that sort of thing.

3m FTW.
but somtimes this method works better, get a fresh piece of tape and stick and remove it over and over agian and it somtimes lifts up the adhisive easly. I like masking tape best to do this with
