I recently had a huge rock bust my oil pan, and after reading some posts about the difficulty of changing the oil pan I have decided to let someone else do it. I am new to the Dallas area and I am looking for a dependable and fair mechanic. If anybody has any recommendations it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Okay, I lived in Dallas for 18 years, and I went to Lovers Lane European Auto.
They are a great shop, trusty guys, Witold was my mechanic. It was the only place we took my car, they are just standup guys.
They are located at Lovers Lane and Inwood. I would call them first, and set up an appointment-they'll probably have to order your part.
Good luck! I have nothing but the best to say about the guys that work there, and they are actually German!
Moving to regional forums ...

Depending on where you are, "Richard and Da Boys" in Lewisville, and "Arlington Automotive Service" in, you guessed it, Arlington.

thanks vato.
you have to remove both motor mounts, remove part of the engine cradle and pull the engine up at least 3 inches. remove about 5000 bolts and 2 thats a beach to get to in the tranny bell housing. then you have to clean everything, and wait 24 hrs for the new gasket to cure
