Help us keep track of these very strange and undocumented cars. If you have an L6 (or Highline for those across the pond) and are willing to register it, send a email to me and I will forward the data form (xls file). No tricks and only members see the registry. Data is secure and won't be provided to anyone no a member of the registry. 1332 of these cars made the the U.S. market. Lets track all we can locate.

TIA

Steve Haygood keeps the 6 series register-

there's already an M registry. (for all M cars. not just the E24's.)

I have one. 1987, black with light gray leather. I have had the car for about 2 months. It had been neglected but I am bringing her back.

The leather dash cover has been replaced. Exterior is very nice, original paint, noe rust at all and just a couple of small dings and chips but nothing that can't be dealt with. It has the original 390mm rims which are not in good condition. I am putting some 16" Style 82's with Pilots which will, I hope, keep the thing reasonably stock-looking but with a little update and improved practicality.

It definitely needs shocks and maybe other suspension work which I will have done in a shop to make sure the alignment, etc. is done right.

The engine has been re-done at 126k (now has 144k) and runs smooth and strong. Tranny shifts smooth and the 3 modes are fully functional.

Interior is good except for the driver's seat. Just ordered a new upholstery pad for it and I am doing the Leathermagic thing throughout. BTW, I have had great success with LeatherMagic, great stuff. Also, the leather has a different feel than the leather in my E34, could it be Water Buffalo? If anyone knows how to tell, I would appreciate it.

Once I make the requisite number of posts, I will put up some photos.
