Whenever I turn on my heater I get this aweful smell, it kinda smells like a box of crayans that went bad (If that could happen)...

But its horrible and Im wondering if there is a way to get rid of the smell. Is there a filter or something I can change?

I bought the car back in oct and its been like this ever since...

its a 95 325is

First thought is the cabin microfilter.
located behind the center console. You need to remove the glove box to get to it.
A little bit of a pain - you will need the manual or find a thread that describes.
And you can spray antibacterial spray in the ducts when it is exposed.

I heard of that...I have removed the glovebox to mess with my alarm anyway, so i know all about it! I will check that out!

Thanks much!

Anything else I should know?

when installing the new filter, look how the old one comes out. You will need to bend/crack the plastic frame of the new filter to "curve" it in the housing - don't worry, this is as designed.

You will have to get the floor heater duct out, and move some of the wiring.

make sure you get teh glove box top trim panel and the box reassembled properly, or the door won't close fully (leaving a gap at the top of the door)

have fun....

already did it, but I ran out of time today cause I had to work...so my car is all torn apart...I need to put it back together tomorrow.

though Im still noticing the smell....Im kinda unhappy about the $40 I just spent for a new filter

The new filter helped a little, but there is definatly still a smell...

Is there any other filters or anything else I can do to try to fix this?

Thanks
