A light came on the other day and it said my secondary air pump was bad. My friend cleared it and told me if it comes on again then we'll have to take a look at it.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Later that night my tranny (I think as the sound goes away when the clutch is in) was making a whining sound. Then the car started to smell really sweet and the smell got worse while we were sitting somewhere waiting. I turned the car off and when I turned it back on it made a horrific whining grinding sound. I turned the car off and there it sat for a day.

When we went to look at it a vacuum hose under the intake had been disconnected and was making a sucking sound. We re-connected it and it ran great. Now I'm getting the whining noise again and the sweet smell is coming back but only after the car is running for a little bit.

Anyone have any ideas!!!

Ok, I gave up trying to find it and took it to the dealership. On the way the car shut down twice and the battery light came on. We started looking at it at the dealership and determined it was the alternator and it was burning. So there you have it. $875 later and the problem will be fixed.
