Blue smoke = oil burning.

Recon is reconditioned/rebuilt?

Did a shop install it for you?

White smoke is coolant burning, is that why you had a head job done in the first place, head gasket leak?

Oil is getting into your combustion chamber somehow, perhaps valve seals or pistol rings... not to be obvious, but you just had a head job, why not take it back to the shop and have them fix it? Are they reputable? Because this should not happen with a rebuilt head, and is likely directly related with their work.

the head was purchased from a reputable dealer, have contacted him but im awaiting a reply, the head was changed due to a crack behind one of the exhaust valves thus water getting into the exhaust, this is now ok but the blue smoke apears after a short run and upon deseleration.

is it possible to change the rings through bottom of engine, via the crank? to avoid romoving the head again.

deff not the recomendid way to do it. but it may be possable( I have done it on a bare block becuase I was messing around in school and compresed the rings in with my hands). you will have a hard time getting the rings compressed. it will also be way more time consuming because you will have to remove the crank(removing the transmition and front subframe and suspention) basicly I would only do it just to see if it could be done lol just bite the bullet and buy a new head gasket haha

cheers for the insight. is it posible it could be anything else other than the rings or valve stem seals?

a leakdown test can help identify where a leak is (rings or valves)
