For those who are maintaining, upkeeping, & constantly cherish your beloved e30, I would like to make a toast.
The e30 is bar none one of the most popular BMWs ever produced & though we're moving on into the future, the number of immaculate e30s are dropping at a fast rate.
Recently, I've come across a gentleman at a gas station who saw my car & approached me asking if I'd sell it. I kindly rejected his offer saying that I've only had this car since September & that I'm slowly, but surely, making this car to modernized specs. This gentleman applauded me, but added that the only reason he bought his e30 was because of its classic appeal and that I should keep that idea in mind with my e30. I asked if he has another car, in particular a BMW, and he responded by saying "Yes, I also own an 83 633CSi & my wife drives a 94 740il." He added, "Everything after the new millenium is just too refined for my taste."
That very same moment, the thought entered my mind that the only reason I bought the e30 was because of its simplicity and that the mods I had originally planned would take my car out of its modest state. Time finally caught up & we parted our ways. He told me to keep up the great work. As he walked away, I took note that he was walking back to a completely immaculate, completely stock black/red 88 325iS. It was one of the most flawless e30s I have ever seen outside of a predominantly BMW environment.
At that moment, I had an epiphany! I decided that I will maintain the classic look of my car and not "mod the hell" out of my e30, but to restore it to new specs & to accessorize it with subtle and tasteful mods, such as H&R Sport springs, 15" Euro Basketweaves wheels painted in Nogaro trim, & a new exhaust system.
I would like to conclude by saying thank you for your time & that I wish you the best for your automobile, beit an e30, e36, e46, e39, or what have you.
Good day!
