I would consider parting them out, except that I have to purchase them in complete sets.

So far this week I've had two requests for driver's side only, and I'm guessing most people would want the same...

which would mean that we would be sitting on tons of passenger and rear mats which would hardly move because if you're buying those, you probaby want the driver's side too... :(

BUT

IF you can pair up with someone who wants the rest of the mats (rear and passenger side) we can sell the full set to you, and you can sell the others to them, or we can consider shipping to you each separately, but you'll have to pair up on your own and then come together to purchase when you are ready at the same time.

Who knows, maybe you'll find someone that has little kids that barfed on their mats and they need all BUT the driver's side :lol

Unfortunately, BMW doesn't officially have an application in all weather for E36...

BUT, if you find a buddy near you with an E46, that will let you see if the shape is similar, maybe it would fit.

Officially, BMW does not offer that application though.

E36 offers carpeted mats, and the "rubber mats", but not what they call the "all weather".

The E46 M3 mats only come in these three colors:

Anthracite

Gray

Beige

I haven't measured or tried to fit an E46 M3 set into an E46 sedan, but I'm going to guess that the front mats are larger in the M3, and the rear mats are smaller in the M3 than in the sedan...

However, they may "fit", but it may not be perfect. It may be a trade off between having the "M" logo and having a perfect fitment for you.

The best way to ensure that the E46 M3 mats would fit in your car, to your satisfaction, would be to find a friend local to you, that would allow you to see if his mat would fit in your car, and decide for yourself if you are happy with the fitment.

Regardless, unlike parts for E46 M3 CSL cars, you do NOT have to own an M3 to buy the mats! :redspot

You would think that the manufacturer would recognize the market for just the driver's mat. Charge 50 percent of the price for only one mat, and both the consumer and manufacturer win!

Seems a shame to throw out virtually unworn mats just because you have to buy a full set.

for those curious about how good of a deal our pricing REALLY is on this product (hey, every penny saved counts right! - I'm the same when it comes to everything I buy) - most of our customers have informed me that their local dealer charges them $160 or $180 for a set of floor mats and that's why they chose to come to us.

BMW has three columns of pricing in their parts department databases. One is wholesale to companies like ours, and varies based on volume and relationship building,etc., one is list, and one is dealer "gauge" option.

BMW lets the dealers charge third column pricing at the parts department and sales people discretion. Some dealers charge more than this even. It depends on the availabilitiy etc. of the part and whether or not there are any aftermarket companies that make something similar.

There are no aftermarket companies that make the BMW quality comparible floor mat, so... the dealer charges away.

I never in a million years thought we'd be selling floor mats of all things in volume here at KO, but late last year, we determined from our search tool on our site, that BMW floor mats were in demand, and as of right now, they are one of our higher volume products, due mostly to the fact that for some reason, most dealers charge the third column pricing or higher to their customers, and the fact that we are coming out of winter, and many customers want to replace their mats which got dirty in the winter months with snow and slush.

It still is kinda weird to me, but I guess dealerships figure that most customers can't find these anywhere else, so they have a captive market that will pay whatever they say they cost.

Most customers end up saving between $48 - $68 plus sales tax on their mats when ordering from us, compared to their dealership.

Granted this is NOT a GP as many have pointed out, this is a part that we have recently began to market, and wanted our Bimmerforums customers to be aware of the savings available.

Anyways, it's not a big deal. The mats don't shift that much anyways. It's more a matter of curiosity.

I don't think I got any sort of adapter. Although I didn't pay much attention to this large white plastic thing that came with it in the box. I figured it was used for hanging the mats on a rack like at the dealership displays. Now that I've thrown it away, I'd like to take a second look.

That large white plastic thing was just for hanging the floor mats on display for the dealership.

The mats we sell are Genuine BMW meaning they are the actual dealership part, and come in the Genuine BMW box.

that's correct...

I'm not sure why BMW makes it confusing, but... they change the names of the colors in every other series and sometimes in the models...

For your car, E36 Coupe... "black" = anthracite, however, if you had a convertible you would actually have "black" black...

the anthracite color looks black, until you put it next to a black set of mats, and then it looks like black with a hint of gray.

the black black mats are for the M3 vert... you can order them if you wish, and I imagine the fronts will be very similar if not identical to the coupe, but the rears may be smaller than the coupe...

it's your call on that.

Honestly, the black are so black I think they'd show more dirt than the anthracite... from dust, etc.

Technically, the black black are not technically fit for coupe according to BMW.

I do not believe that the Roadster and the regular Z4 use the same mats.

We haven't put the part #s for the E85 (z4) on our site yet, so I don't have the color / part # combos, but if you search around online or call your local dealer with your VIN, they can tell you the exact part # that will match your interior and your can then order through us and save the cash!

Once you get the part #, just follow the instructions in this thread for the special forum members only pricing.

Hey BH, just hit you back by email!

BMW no longer makes the locking ring version of the floor mats. They stopped that style in 2000 or so and they only make the velcro version now-a-days.

However, they include a retro-fit packet of disks in the box for the cars that used to come with the ring style.

We only carry the Genuine BMW mats and they come directly from BMW in a BMW box, etc.

I think I hit you back by email already on this, but ALL Genuine BMW mats are manufactuered with the Velcro since 2000.

I wish they still made the other style, but they do not. For those who had the older style mats, when you purchase a new set of Genuine BMW mats from KO Performance, they will include a retro-fit pouch of 4 disks which will interface with your old mechanism, as the BMW engineers designed them to.

I haven't had a single customer complain about the retrofit kit in the 3 years we've been selling the mats.

Yeah, it didn't make sense to me either. I'm no idiot (no really, I'm not!;) ) but one link sent me to the normal ordering page with the higher price, the other link sent me to a pre-loaded shopping cart that I couldn't put a part number into, in order to get the better price and select a color.

I also didn't feel like filling out the long account form....I just wanted to purchase some mats.

the floor mat part #s are model specific and we have put them on our site just like BMW had them in the Genuine BMW Accessories catalogue...

which means that the color names are not always the same between convertible and coupe...

For E36... the BMW "marketing" name for gray was:

ONLY Titan Gray for non-vert

and regular "Gray" gray for convertibles.

I wish they didn't make it so confusing for their customers!

for example: Black is only available for verts, but Anthracite is "black" for hard tops... although technically, it's slightly less "black" than the black convertible mats, but there is NO "black" black for non-verts, only Anthracite.

If I didn't lose you with all that, or if I did, the safest way to order is to just ONLY look at the part # options and color names available for YOUR model of car because that's all that's available and we call it exactly what BMW calls it.

i wish. Those mats are way more than the normal mats for some reason. I don't know what makes them so special but our cost and retail are much higher for that special order. You must have a very unique car!

BMW stopped making the old "pin / clip" style in 2000.

Since then, all of the Genuine BMW mats produced have the velcro on the bottoms of the mats, and they interface with these little plastic discs on the older cars, which they (BMW) includes in the Genuine BMW package with the mats, in a little plastic bag, with 4 adapters (one for each mat) that plug into the slots where the old "pin / clips" used to be used.

This a Genuine BMW engineered retro-fit and included in every set of mats that KO sells, because we only carry the Genuine mats.

These are great directions except the part where I can't sign up as a customer because Address is required and the fields don't accept provinces.

lol... no. We like Canadians. In fact, one of my most respected advisors is a self made multi-millionaire canadian.

Because of customs and shipping logistics, we can only ship outside the USA by first consolidating orders for non-domestic USA shipping in our Miami HQ.

We can take any international orders to any country in the world, but because of the fact that the orders must first be consolidated in Miami, we need two things from you:

1. all the part #s you want to order
2. your exact shipping address

If you email us the above, and your phone number and the best time to reach you, we can figure out how much the shipping will be to your location via UPS Standard (that's the only way we ship to Canada, unless you want Fedex Air method), and take your order by phone.
