I have been looking to race this prelude for a while, it ran a 14.4 at the track vs my 14.4 on the g-tech. So i wanted to see what would happen. I spotted him and i followed him. He asks if i wont to race, i said where and i followed him out to a dead country road. First run- i launched at to low of rpms and he won by 2 cars to 120. He got 1 car at the launch and after that just creeped away. Second run- we did a 5 mph roll, I think i started just a little early. He stayed next to me almost the whole race. I just creeped ahead and at 120 he was at my rear bumper. Third run- i got a better launch so he didnt get that one car right away, but he slowly creeped the whole time and won by 1 car at 120. So i think the g-tech is acurate.
Then latter on i went to the strip. I was up next to the mustang and he was trying to get me to race, i told him i will go race in the country. I try to avoid a ticket the best i can. He said yes, so i told him to follow. We got to the spot and my buddies get out. 1,2,3 go I had a good launch and stay pritty much even through first and most of sec. then third he got 1 a car ahead at 110. We shut it off and i look back to see a cop zooming up. I pull over and got a $375 ticket for racing side by side on highway.

V6 mustang? thats kinda sad, those things are slow, you should beat him with your mods - try pullies/weight reduction...

Well i dont think you want to hear about how i sat there while he wrote the ticket. I also pointed out in the title it was a GT mustang. It had an exhaust of some kind too. I think he just cut off mufflers and did a hack job welding it up, cuz it sounded bad for a 4.6l mustang.

I never got dinoed, but i have seen a 325 with intake, exhaust, and the turner chip. The only diff. would be the exhast systems. He was putin down 181 whp and like 170 somthing torque.
Holly s**t, $4000 is what i paid for my car. I had a chance to run, but i really dont want to go to jail. If i new i would get a $4000 dollar ticket i would have hit 150mph and cruised away.

Do you mean you would've tried to outrun the cops? Because if that's what you would've tried to do, they would've eventually caught you, and you'd be in jail. And they'd impound your car and suspend your license for a long time.

yeah, my older brother has ran several times in his mustang and his old ford lightning. I am just to much of a wuss. See at the end of the race when we shut off there is a hill. So we slowed down to like 55 by now. Then this cop came flying over the hill, i saw it right away and pulled over. The mustang went for a long time before he noticed. He was probley an 8th mile ahead when he finaly pulled over. So the cop wizzed by me and went right for the mustang. I dont know if the cameras can pick up a licence plate going 110, so i wasnt sure if runing would have done me any good.
I also had my two freinds get out, i would have either had to picked them up or left them behind. The cops could have found out who i was through them.
Its was a hard dicison to make, but i know i made the right one cuz i was at like an 8th tank. So i would not have been able to run for long.

Im not sure, but my freinds saw him pull up with no lights on(no headlights no nothing). So he was hiding.
Then he turned his lights on and they ran into the corn feild.

Dude, those 4.6L are dogs. I went and test drove a 99' and hardley noticed a difference from my 325is. And wow was i happy to get back to my bimmer.

The 4.6l mustangs are not dogs. They have potential for a 13.9 with good driver stock. The reason i did as good as i did, is this guy didnt launch to well.

so what did the cop say to you? was he letting you off easy for with only 300? becuase im pretty sure street racing tickets are expensice as hell and they cna arrest you...i heard a rule that the cops have to have their headlights on and be seen in order to pull you over....you might wanna look into it and fight the ticket

i have yet to race a GT, but man if your car runs a 14.4 at the track, then your car is insane for a 325i:eek: , my 325i with the s50 and my mods best run was 14.3 with a 2.286 60ft. (with me at the track for the second time in my life)

A couple of buddies and I were driving back through wisconsin we got pulled over in Siren County for going 23mph over (78 in a 55) and got a ticket for ~$270-$280 (can't remember the exact figure, but it was something ridiculous like that)...you would figure fines for street racing would be much higher than those for an everyday speeding ticket.

They have potential yes. Every V8 has potential to run 13's But the car I drove was completely stock. And compared to the older 5.0L they are dogs.

They have no low end torque. The 5.0 will have lots of low end.
The 99+ 4.6l mustag stock can run 13.9.
