Hi,
I will be visiting the Boston area in May and was wondering if y'all can give me some pointers on where to stay, hotel/motel that is not too expensive(dont wanna go over $75/nite). I will be visiting Providence, RI too, so any hotel/motel pointers out there too?
Also, what are the must see places in Boston/Providence ?will be in RI for 1.5 days and in Boston for 2 days.
2 nites in boston and 2 nites in Providence.
TIA,
Rahul.

You may be able to spot a bum 75 bucks to borrow his bench for the night. Seriously though, you're going to pay bare minimum 150/night anywhere in the vicinity of Boston, especially in the summer. Out in the burbs you may find something in the 100-150 range.

Im 45 min west of Boston, and any of the hotels are starting at 100 bucks a night. Might be better off paying the 50 bucks it costs just to park in a garage and sleep in the car, haha.

You might be able to get something in Revere / Malden / Somerville for $75/night. You'll have to take public transportation into the city and the accomodations might not be the greatest either.

Is this an uncomfortable photo? I saw a Mass trooper shooting laser last month. It honestly looke at first glance he had his weapon drawn. Freaked my me out.
You could look down toward Milton/ Brockton area and find one maybe in your range. It's less than 20 minutes on 24/3 north.

The Boston area is funny with drive times and distance. The western suburbs, unless they're on the Pike, take a long time to get into the city. As in, half an hour to drive 15 miles. I commuted for a while on Rt 2, and it took a good 50 mins to travel 27 miles with no traffic.
i'm here in Rockland which is about 40 miles south of Boston (so i was told). i'm at the Radisson and it was only $98 a night since i'm a AAA member. pretty nice hotel and offers free wifi which is nice since some places are still RJ-45's.
for $75, you aren't going to get anything nice = more likey to have it dirty or worst: bed bugs.
it' pays to be a AAA member. if i wasn't, it would have been $120/night.
