I have a couple RIMZZZ that need to be straightened. Should I get estimates from both places or is there one in particular that should be avoided? Both are hella close to me.

I don't particularly care if they ding the sh!t out of my wheels as I'm going to refinish them myself anyway. I just want 'em straightened.

Thx.

I have been happy with the Wheel Shop although others have not.
The owner can be difficult at times but they did great work when I used them.

I have read that people have been happy with Wheel Worx. Haven't read anything negative. And Wheel Worx is an NCC supporter (advertiser). I'd probably go with them the next time I need wheels fixed.

If you do use them, mention the ad in the der Bayerische.
It won't give you a discount but it does help the chapter with continued revenue.

Heard nothin but good things about wheel worx. Let me know what you find out. I have 5 in need of repair/refinish, though I may just do all 6. Wonder if they give some kind of discount when you bring a whole set :dunno

Noted about mentioning derB

One of my wheels are at Ye Olde Wheel. They charged me 220 to fix the lip on my SSR's...huge piece was torn like a can :(..that is another story. I haven't seen the work yet though.

I've used both places. Prices are comparable. Ye Old Wheel Works shop is not as impressive.

Just dropped off the Schnizters at Wheel Worx Saturday morning. They're supposed to be ready this week, and I can give impressions then. I've seen refinishing work that they did on Rob Williams' E30 basketweaves, and they were awesome.

Last time I tried to use Ye Olde, and was told 3-4 weeks before they could even look at them.

Not sure about Ye Olde, but Wheel Worx does not accept checks or credit cards.

I saw a truck on 395 today that said they straighten alloy wheels. They are based in Centreville. I got the number, (703)815-9757, they seem to be mobile and send someone out to you. I was quoted $125 to straighten one bent BBS RC wheel. Might be worth investigating....

Just spoke with them and sent an email with pictures as well. They quoted the same, $125 - 150. For bad bends that show cracks after reforming, they send out to be fixed and welded. This starts at $175.

I ended up taking the wheels back to the guy I bought them from. They needed too much work to be usable and it wouldn't have been worth it.

That's what I'm afraid of with mine... selling and the person not being happy with them. So, when/if I even have money again, I may get some repaired to aid the sale.

Yes, I'm trying to sell my GT3s.

I mean, this idiot advertised the wheels were straight with good tires. I get them and one has a hoop bend, two have lip bends (big ones) and two tires have a bunch of screws in them.

I was slightly pissed.

Ah, ok... and I never said mine were in perfect condition either.
