View Full Version : Don't go to Circle BMW!!!
AndrewH 04-10-2006, 09:17 PM Don't EVER go to Circle BMW in West Longbranch, NJ. The sales associates are extremely snotty and ignorant. Anyway, last time I went to the dealer to get parts, (as I was leaving) I beeped at my friend numerous times because he was going out the wrong exit and I flipped him off kidding around. Anyway, 2 months later I go to the dealer to pick some parts up and this guy comes out of the building and tells me to never come back again because I was giving the finger to salesmen and I was beeping for no reason. He then proceeded to tell me I burnt out. This is where I lost it. I told him there's no way an e34 530 automatic can burn out just from hitting the gas from a stop. I then proceeded to tell him what had happened last time and why I was beeping. He said he didn't care and that I wasn't allowed to do business there anymore. I got right in his face and proceeded to tell him he didn't know shit about these cars other than he gets commision for selling a 325i to a family who can't spell BMW. I found out that there's an ever closer BMW dealer to me, so I will be going there instead. You think I should back with my pickup truck and smoke the tires in front of the sales department?? It really sucks because the parts guy was really cool and we started to become friends, but oh well. I can't believe they would lose a customer over such a dumb situation, but then again, I guess it doesn't matter because they charge someone 125 dollars to change a blinker bulb.
Ken318 04-11-2006, 12:08 PM Yea, the parts guys are cool, service sucks! I try to avoid going there for service at all costs. Where are you in Jersey? I'm sure there is a good indy near you.
MikeK 04-11-2006, 01:34 PM im sorry, but id goto Motorsport Recycling for stupid little things that dealers will charge an arm and a leg for...just my .02
e34werkz 04-11-2006, 02:49 PM JMK for parts, never had a problem there.
Snarcher! 04-11-2006, 02:54 PM Keeler Parts department sucks as well up here in Albany, NY. Never delt with service or sales. If you need a silly part like a bulb go to capital cities BMW in glenmont, a little south of albany, its about half the price of keeler.
AndrewH 04-11-2006, 03:17 PM I live in Bricktown, (town next to Point Pleasant for you North Jerseyites/New Yorkers) right by the beach. I would NEVER bring my car to be serviced by the dealer. It's just convenient that they're 20 minutes away when I need dumb little parts here and there. Mike, I would defintely go to MSR, but that's about an hour away from my house, which is a little far for 7 dollar brake sensors lol. I'm defintley going to some of those Friday night meets as soon as I'm out of high school. In about a month, I'm going to take the Ford Ranger through the carport and let them know my true feelings with some RWD action ;) .
So you acted like an immature idiot in a place where they try to keep an upscale, professional attitude, and now you're angry? You've got nobody to blame but yourself. I would have done the same if I owned a BMW dealership.
JTFormula 04-11-2006, 11:07 PM If you need service work and Circle is close to you, see Tim Meritz in service. He was at JMK for many years and recently moved to Circle. He is a good guy and a CCA member. I don't know the other guys in service so I can't say anything about them. I do most of the work on my own cars. plus they're too old for them to deal with anyway.
As for the sales floor, avoid them and go to JMK or Open Road if you are looking to buy. I was going to apply for a sale position at Circle. I have heard nothing but horror stories about that place. If you think the dealer f's people buying cars, you should hear what they do to the salesmen. This is from previous salesmen who worked for them. Not a place I would work.
Parts I have never really had a problem with them. They never bauked about looking up some old parts for my e21 or my 2002. They were always good to me and offer a discount for CCA members.
Andrew, if you had a problem with the sales guy, speak with the General Manager and tell him what happened. If they still do not want to listen to you, go to another dealer or buy from BavAuto or another mail order place. Worst comes to worse, wait a few months and the sales floor will have new people anyway. Most will either leave or get canned the way that place is run.
Gregg 04-12-2006, 08:01 AM I would have asked to speak with the manager and/or owner and told them the story in a calm mature way. If they were all jerk wads I would then procede to do a burn out on the showroom floor with as many salespeople under the car as possible.

Funny you should say that but Circle's sales staff was great with me and gave me a fantastic trade in on my previous bimmer. The service there was absolutely terrible, they changed a torque converter when I brought the car in for an ENGINE OIL leak :rolleyes I will never go back there for service again. It took them nearly a month to figure out that it was a main seal. (Although I did have an X3 for a month, the point is I wanted MY car, not the loaner for a month) Anyways maybe things are different with a new guy in service.

What do you wotk there?? ;) I understand what your saying, but it's not like I went to the dealership with a flannel shirt on, ripped jeans, a Budweiser in one hand and burnt out in front of the building. My friend was going out a one way exit because he's dumb, is that a reason to beep, I would say so.

I did, but the main manager was/is on vacation on Florida until next Monday.
AndrewH 04-12-2006, 09:42 AM Problem solved. I went to another dealer yesterday and the parts guy was totally cool. He has a really well-done e30 that is a stroker and even came outside to admire the e34 when I pulled up. We shot the shit about cars for awhile and he is very down to earth. He also appreciates the amount of effort I'm putting into the car for being 17 years old and that I'm attempting to do some of the work myself. He already gave me the CCA discount on parts the first day I met him, so it didn't go too bad I guess. In about a month, I think I'm going to bring out the old Ford Ranger and see show them some nice rear wheel drive action under the carport ;) .

amancuso 04-12-2006, 12:08 PM Methinks you were in Freehold :D

Tim in service just went over to Circle about 2 months ago once they opened their new building on 36 in Eatontown. See him if you need something. If your turned off completely, then stay with who you like the best.
Its good to hear you got a good deal from Circle. Like I said, I know several previous sales guys who used to work there. They told me to stay away from the sales department. The stories I could tell you...
