View Full Version : I Lose Again?!?!?!
SilverSS 10-20-2002, 12:40 PM OMG! I cant believe this shit! I was driving on Hwy 20 last night round 1:00am. I was going to a friends house, anyways I see this lil Civic pull up right behind me, he hits the high beams, so I slow down, I dont wanna race no rice! Anyways he gets beside me, and passes me, jump right infront me and taps the breaks!
I can tell this lil shit wont leave me alone, so I pull beside him. I look over, hes in his mid 20's laughing his ass off! Anyways he puts up his fingers, 1-2-3 we both take off from about 80KMH, anyways, by about 3 seconds he had maybe 2-3cars on me, and he just kept going! I could not believe what I had just experienced, I am sure this car could run 10's at at track, it was sick. Ayways after about 6 seconds of racing I just cut it, no point.
I will drive by a few rice meets in the next few weeks, I wanna catch this guy and talk to him.
Anfanger 10-20-2002, 03:48 PM I doubt it was a 10 second Civic... I've seen hollowed out 2000lb non-street legal Civics with a turbo and ALOT of nitrous barely running 10s on import drags. I've also seen a low 12 Civic with tons of works on the road before... so that may have been what you encountered.
Don't worry about it. With enough work, you will come to the point where you can pass him while in high gear :) .
Reminds me of a funny story...
An acquaintance of mine used to own a '00 M5. One night, he and his friends were driving along on the freeway and some guy in an early 90s Accord pulled alongside. He honked his horn and so my friend chuckled to himself and gave him a nod. They both took off, and the Accord lurched ahead and pulled away evenly. My friend stared in disbelief. The Accord was zooming away, and then suddenly black smoke began pouring from the exhaust. The Accord stopped pulling and instantly fell back behind the M5, churning smoke from the exhaust. Everyone burst out laughing and that was the end of that.
Moral of the story... imports with small engines just don't work for drag racing :astromile .
SilverSS 10-20-2002, 03:56 PM yeah well I am gonna try and find this guy! I am sure with a car like this he must go to the meets.
Jgent 10-20-2002, 09:44 PM I'm impressed you post your defeats as well as your victories.
SilverSS 10-20-2002, 09:56 PM yeah I dont mind, I lost to an M3, put that up as well! There are alot of wins I dont bother with, lil ricers with like 200Hp, whatever, waste of board space ;)
I only put up the ones that count!
makken 10-20-2002, 11:46 PM moral of the story:

no the real moral of the story is, if you have more than 4 cylinders never race a civic because 99.9% of the time its a waste of gas.
///MINI 10-21-2002, 09:05 AM Civics are like a box of chocolates...you never know what you're gonna get. LOL :D

SilverSS 10-21-2002, 09:24 AM Its true, this is my first lose to a civic, but at the track, I had a few close runs!
SilverStreak 10-21-2002, 12:23 PM Do yourself a favor, quit racing from a roll, it ain't drag racing and means nothing. Learn how to launch and race from a dead stop, that's the only measure of driver skill combined with car's ability, etc...
SilverSS 10-21-2002, 05:58 PM I know how to launch, well, I am OK at it! But on the highway what are we gonna do stop, or take some exit, I aint going out of my way! That guy would not leave me alone, so I got fed up and gave in!
