hey Guys, abou a year ago, I curbed my car. It was repaired long ago...,

anyway, I was at the quarter mile track, when to a test launch, suffered terrible wheel hop (traction usually sucks at this track, but it was badass this night). Right after, felt some bad vibration. Was able to drive it home. Had it up on a lift today,

just curious if any of you have pictures of this connector piece that comes off of the right side of the oil pan and heads up to meet with what looks like a motor mount (could be part of the suspenion, not sure). Anyway, this steel piece is broken (yes....steel....broken...). I suspect it was badly weakened a year ago, and this was the final straw (I track the car too, so, glad it happened at a good time).

Anyway, looking for pics of this piece? a name for the piece once identified. want to get this piece ordered asap. Or, if you know of a catalog online for parts of this kind that shows pictures, I could point it out.

It almost 'appears' to be a control arm, but I'm not sure that's exactly what it is. Regardless, going to bring it into 'my guy' on Monday, and go over to bmw and pay a rediculously exorbinent amount for the part :) Anyway, any information anyone can offer me before then would be nice...

Take a picture! I have to reload my ETK, but I can tell you what it is later today if you get me a pic

I have reattached the suspension image with the part that broke shaded in blue. It's broken right in the middle completely..., anyone have an idea if it will be okay to take an 'easy' 240 mile drive home? It broke on a trip down to near LA, and I need to drive back to San Jose tonight...

What's the name of that piece? Price? etc?

Thanks again!

I looked through the ETK and that appears to be a part of the "Front Axle Support" the part# is 31 11 2 229 040. I don't see any other pieces that it could be in the diagrams. Basically it appears to be a part of that whole front crossmember. If that is what it is, then I would say "NO" to the 240 mile drive

it ended up being a support that leads to one of the motor mounts...

Cost to repair is around 380 (for that support, and to replace both motor mounts in front)...

Hopefully the insurance company will pay for it (adjuster was out there today looking at it, looks good so far)...

thanks for all of the help!
