April 23 there is a PCA (porsche club) event at the sheriffs training center. $20 for 8 runs. ITs a pretty fast course...usually im deep into 3rd in a few parts.

April 30 there is an SCCA event at remmington park. These courses aree usually a little slower but more technical. There are more places to runoff the course than the PCA so its a little better for first timers IMO. The price breakdown is as follows:
<table id="table1" border="0" width="100%"><tbody><tr><td colspan="2"> Pre-Registration/Pay @ Event Site Costs:
Pre-Registration is available until 2 days prior to event
(Closes @ 12:01am the day before the event)
</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="44%"> Pre-Register Member
</td> <td width="54%">$20.00</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="44%">Pre-Register Non-Member</td> <td width="54%">$25.00</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="44%">Pre-Register Member 2nd Class</td> <td width="54%">$15.00</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="44%">Pre-Register Non-Member 2nd Class</td> <td width="54%">$25.00</td> </tr> <tr> <td colspan="2" width="98%"> Registration Costs - Register & Pay @ The Event Site
</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="44%"> Member
</td> <td width="54%">$25.00</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="44%">Non-Member</td> <td width="54%">$30.00</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="44%">Member 2nd Class</td> <td width="54%">$20.00</td> </tr> <tr> <td width="44%">Non-Member 2nd Class</td> <td width="54%">$30.00</td></tr></tbody></table>

I'm posting these at least a week in advance so i don't want to hear any excuses later on down the road:nono

My goal is to have my motor swap done by the SCCA auto-x on the 30th... I don't think I'll have it in and broken-in by the pca event... :-(

Okay, after watching the in-car vid from the Mustang that turned FTD at the last auto-x, I am thinking a v-8 swap instead of the s50! Anyone have an extra ls2 laying around???

i think that is the mustang that goes to the pca events...

he and i went toe to toe last year multiple times at the PCA location and i beat him EVERYTIME on my Fusion ZRi 320 treadwear street tires...

if it aint a built BMW with a damn good driver, dont fear the ride...

unless its Chris Gant in a shifter KART

That is the same Mustang. He has sorted out quite a few things AND he is running super sticky bias slicks now. Last year, he and I ran close to each other (he beat me, I beat him, he beat me, I beat him, etc). This year he is much improved, he spanked everyone at the last SCCA event!

no matter how fast he gets, he still has to look at that Ford symbol on his hood everyday.

image how fast our fords would be if we sunk all of our BMW money in to a little fox body 'stang... i mean, you can buy all of your go-fast parts off of the counter at Pep Boys or AutoZone!!!

Hey Bob, i gotzzz me a daily driver so now i have no excuse to keep my silver car "streetable"... oh wait, i have no money to fix it up but -

i can tell you that no matter what, no mustang is going to beat me at the PCA event - EVER!!!

I think he took the oval off his hood if I remember correctly... :D

When are you and Chris going to help me put my cams in??? :D

Team FMS

you have your cams already??? if so, i'd like to get them to a machine shop so they can spec those bad boys for me... i have a couple of stock cams that i could re-grind and make some KD S/B cams!!!

CG is going to be out of pocket this weekend but i bet one night next week, we could get those babies in there for you...

We have some extra REM polished and/or special coated gears you could use if Chris will come off of those for a penny or twoo!!!

Gotta run our stickers tho - wait, we dont have any yet!

I'll be at the PCA event, oh and BTW Kyle, I totally agree. I used to drool over Mustangs for thier raw power. Right until the moment I realized you can have power and the fun of not driving the same car as your neighbor, and his neighbor, and his neighbor, and his neighbor. Oh wait, AND your car isn't confused with the same six cylinder estrogen edition the dental hygenist is driving as well.

FYI... there is no such thing as a 1.8L Z3 of any make or model...

there were no OBD1 1.8L Z3's, therefore, the OBD2 Z3 displacement went up to a whopping 1.9L!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You stand corrected

"When BMW Z3 was introduced in 1996, everyone was surprised by its aggressive styling. Everybody thought then that this German 2-seater is a very beautiful car. But the most important thing about Z3 is that it has proved to be an instant classic and even now, several years after it was launched, it remains amazingly beautiful. Next to its wonderful styling are Z3's engine and road manners. BMW Z3 is initially motorized by the not-so-powerful 1.8 liter and 1.9 liter engines. Later on, two new engines have been added to Z3's vehicle line: a 193 bhp 2.8 liter engines and the outstanding 3.2 liter 321 bhp unit powering the Z3 M version."

im not sure how truthful that is, but that's what i read
