Heads up guys, if your vin plaque is covered in any way you can get a $65 ticket.

My work van (Econoline 350) was parked on 35th just south of Snyder in Flatbush and I got a ticket because a Pepperidge Farm Chedder Cheese Goldfish found it's way over the vin plaque. Not even a whole one, just a crumb covered one number.

wtf.....there are some cars in NY that are issued new vins (theft recovery, etc) and in most cases, the dash vin is destroyed (from the thieves). how the hell does that work then?
