So I recieved a parking ticket in the mail, from Baltimore City, on my M3. The date of the violation is Feb. 28 2006 and it was on Lancaster St. See I never got a ticket in my M3 and havent ever parked on Lancaster St and it boggles my mind when i could have gotten this. After looking over the date AGAIN, I realized that the date that i flipped my car and totalled it was January 10th. The car is totalled and i didnt even have posession of the car at this time...

What the Hell is this shit they are trying to get me with? Anyone ever heard of shit like this. I have heard that the city does this to collect revenue and make up fake parking tickets to get money out of you hoping that you just pay it. IS this true. Just want to know your thoughts.
AND NO, THERE WERE NO PLATES ON THE CAR OR ANY VIN NUMBERS SINCE THE CAR WAS STRIPPED. AND I STILL HAVE EVERYTHING. NO PLATES WERE STOLLEN.

Just talked to my father and he said that he has heard of this shit before. He says that the city does this to try to get money. I just called the collection agency and there was a 90 min wait. They just do that so people hang up and just pay it even though it really isnt theres. Also why the hell did they send me a ticket in the mail and not just leave it on my car?

Also possible someone fat fingered the plate number into the computer and and it came back as yours.

Nope the plates were off the car and the vin number on the dash was removed since the car was completely stripped. I never returned the plates. I still have them in my possession. I told them that i keep them for sentimental value.

You should be able to get out of this fairly easily.

When I surrendered my tags they asked me for the other one. I told them I had lost it recently so I could keep one of them.

That sucks dude. Lancaster Street is like 1 or 2 streets back from the water in Fells Point. When did you buy the 540? Didn't you "borrow" the old tags from the M3 to use on the 540 for a little bit? Just a possibility maybe :dunno
