Yes they did. But if it is still good it should remain that way because the cause is now gone.

I have a 144,000 mile Nicasil v8 in my 840 that is as good as a motor with that many miles can be. It is a West Coast car that spent almost all of it life in California where the sulphur level was low. Clean plugs after 20,000 miles:)

I had a 100,000 mile 740 that came from the Midwest that would oil sparkplugs every couple of weeks so I can tell the difference.
