just purchased my dream car although not the color or year i wanted i couldn't pass on it. it's a 96 740il with 100k in better than perfect condition, green with grey interior. i paid $9,000 for it and i am extremely happy. so now i guess i am officially part of the bmw family and what a family it is.

Congratulations!

Great feeling, isn't it? :) I just got mine in the middle of March and I still find myself peeking out the window sometimes to look at her parked there in my driveway and think whoa.. I can't believe it hehe. I also still find myself looking over my shoulder when I walk away after parking her and grinning like an idiot ;)

PS.. if you're mechanically inclined, I recommend doing an oil change and while it's drained, drop the lower oil pan and check the oil pump bolts for tightness. I've been slacking myself, kept putting it off but I'm doing that this weekend. www.e38.org has a ton of info, you can find good step by steps there. If you're unfamiliar with the issue, the bolts can get loose and in worst case, totally drop out and cause a bunch of damage to the motor. May not be necessary, but I figure doesn't hurt to check and only costs me a $26 gasket.
