Hey guys,
I want to start to get into Auto X. I have a 1993 325is with my mods listed in signature. I'm getting Bilstien Sports, H&R Sports, and TMS Sways in this coming month. I want to upgrade my RTAB and LCAB to Powerflex poly units. Which class would I be running in with my current setup? If I put all of those suspension mods in which class will that put me in? If I put cams in what class will I be in? Where are the rules on what you can and cannot do? NAy information is appreciated. BTW- I just checked out SCCA website and they said my car is DSP but I couldnt find any more info.

Also what about differentials? If I put a 3.46 w/ 40% Lock-up will that change my class to?

cams, diff would put you in Street Modified. The SCCA rulebook is available in PDF on their website, check it out.

yep. final drive ratio change is also SM.

read up. the only thing to know is that if the rules dont mention it specifically, its not allowed.

Which ever class you wind up in, if I were you I'd forego the Bilsteins and go with at least Koni single adjustables, and if the budget permits, Koni double adjustables. Be sure and get after market RSMs that invert the mounting bolts, which permits rear shock removal from the fenderwell, without ripping apart the trunk.

remember:

STX is for street tires
DSP is for race tires

lookup www.scca.org and find your local region and check out their auto-x dates to sign up.

I want to go with Koni's but im on a trunkated time schedule at the shop were Im going to be doing the install. ANd this is my only car and I need to have it in driving condition to get back and forth to school and work. I still havent decided but overall I would like to have the Koni's but like I said I need to be able to install quickly. I also plan to get the understeer.com install kit which comes with 3.2l m3 front strut reinforcements. It also includes e46 RSM and enforcers but Im going to go with some RE ones.
