///Mracer 04-05-2006, 09:10 AM I am heading down for a "Seat TIme" at Summit on Thursday, cannot wait. I think it has been nearly a year since I was last down there and I am interested to see if my "mods" will make any difference. I have been told that we will get AT LEAST 6 - 20 minute sessions

Nice, how high did you go on the springs? I upped mine, added - camber, and put a big bar up front. We'll see how it feels :dunno

600 front, and 750 rear with the big GC bar up front and stock rear. Added the GC camber plates up front as well. We'll see how long before I destroy my Koni's with those spring rates. Then it will be time to "beg" for the money to get them re-valved correctly.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. I (actually Doby),added a LTW high replica rear as well.
Man, that's awesome!!
What exactly is a "seat time" event. Do all the drivers have advanced tracking experience? I am sure it has been discussed. Just wondering. :dunno

Seat Time ($200) is through BSR and it is a DE with no instructors. Either you have to go through FATT and get signed off or tell them your exp. and they might let you in. Only 3 run groups - street cars, competition cars, historic/vintage cars.
This will be my first seat time event, I am interested to see how it goes.

Can I make a request? Can you take off that ricer wing? I want to know you can see me coming up on you fast to make the pass smoothly. I don't want the wing to block my view of your hand pointing me by, too.
Thanks for your cooperation. :)

Nova1 04-06-2006, 01:35 AM AH, have fun man. I have a test tomorrow, or I would've blown off class for the day to go, especially with the cooler weather. Go balls deep on turn 11 for me...(I think it's 11, last one before the long straight).
lucky.......
i really need to hit up some FATT's

I think you'll end up having a short day if you take 11 turns at Summit. :stickoutt

he was instructing a guy in an E46 M3. Clay also drove for half a session on that car and I chased him
overall a good day, 5-20 minute sessions. I knocked my best lap down by a solid 2 seconds.....on RA-1's :buttrock

definitly not structered like a FATT. No tech, no drivers meeting, show up, register, go run. We had 1 run group for street cars (maybe 20 or so), and 2 run groups for competition cars - production based and formula. Passing on straights with point bys for street car class, however, some guys did not exactly follow that rule.

That sounds pretty cool. Just get out there and drive.
Are you doing to PCS event on Friday and Sat (April 14 and 15)? Mikey52 and I are registered.

Hmm, I'll be in Hagerstown next weekend for the Christian holiday. Details, any openings, can I do just Saturday?

JessIe, come to Summit if you are free on any of those days if you can't get into the event for just Sat. I went to one last year to spectate and they allowed me to run my 325 during the lunch break. If you need to borrow a car, you can use mine.

Email sent to the registrar, I'll probably stop by anyway if I don't get in.

never point people by, make them work for it
never point people by, make them work for it
Uuum, my comment to Mikey was a joke.:stickoutt
As for making people work for the pass, I would agree if I was looking to get into competitive racing, or if the person behind me is slower in the turns but only catches up on the straights. If someone is on my bumper through the turns AND on the straights, I like to let them pass and see if I can keep up with them. I prefer to be the follower most of the time. :dunno
AndrewBall 04-07-2006, 11:29 AM being the follower will only get you 2nd place
i understand it was a joke, and among races things like my reply are too. its all good fun. few people actually drive down the middle of the track to keep someone behind them, or brake in a diagonal line from the inside of the track to the outside to take away thier out braking manuver. you learn these things when racing with American sedans
