I'd think not. I run through there sometimes, but I'm with a group and it's during the day. At night it's not pretty.

That's the area they're clearing out to build the Nats' stadium. It's mostly industrial, but the residential areas that border it are (ahem) low income housing.

No, area is just starting to transition from industrial/warehouse. Might be okay in 2-3 years.

No, I ask because my exgf will be working where B is (US Coast Guard station) for a few weeks this summer and she's trying to figure out if she can stay at a hotel near there and walk to B or if she can walk from the metro (at M street) to B. I guess she's gonna have to bus it or cab it, which I don't think she'll be too happy about.

No. Myself, BJ, and a few other people went down to Phillips seafood down near the left corner of that map. The part you're talking about is near the SEU/Waterfront Metro station, iirc, and I wouldn't go there if my life depended on it at night.

We have an office by the intersection of M St. & South Cap, that area is marginal during the day (we've had cars broken into, smashed windshields, stolen license plates, etc). It's improving rapidly, lots of construction for business pertaining to the Naval yard (further left on M St). Plus the baseball field will be in that same area.

But south of there, where you're talking about, scary man.

I work right there, there is no way in hell I would let my wife walk around there by herself, that being said, its gotten allot better in the year that I have been here, its mostly just crackheads asking for money (serious) and at night time on the weekends, the thugs come out

Wish they had a shuttle from Ancostia to Bolling AFB. The gate and the 295 NB side bridge are closing for 18 months. Gonna be a nightmare.

Summer she wants to take her bicycle and ride from Metro station to Bolling. I for one would prefer a shuttle service but USAF is to friggin cheap and they have known about the road closing yet there is no plan to aleviate traffic issues.
