Hey guys,
Need some tecnical advice, my '99 328I E46 did this last fall/winter and is now starting to do it again. Right after I start it and for about 15 minutes, if I am in neutral (have a 5 speed) the RPM's will go from a normal 800-900, down to 400-500 for a second then bounce back. it does this several times in a row or until I start driving. I had the factory air box on last fall and went to a ECIS cold air 2 months ago, no other engine mods have been done.
Anyone have any suggestions? :dunno

Thanks for the help in advance.

Does your state switch fuel formulation inbetween seasons like California? It could be a side effect of "Winter Fuel".

Yes, I beleve both Pa. and NJ. change over to a "winter fuel mix" and I fill up in both states. If this is the cause what can I do to stop this side effect?

i have that too sometimes on my 94 325is ...
i do not think it is something serious ...
it can be from the gas or from a weak
working sensor probably ...
