Anyone going to SAE congress in michigan this week?
I got some friends there displaying the 2005 sae car I raced, being displayed by a company called ATI (rapidprotoying) who helped us manufacture the intake system (100% RP).
BMW has on display the M6, Z4 coupe and RJ valentines #17 grand am E46 M3 from PTG.
I should have some pictures my buddies are sending me from thier hotel, but they are out having fun with the rental car :)
Anyone else planning to attend?

I went to the SAE Dinner last night. I thought it was great. The president of BMW spoke, and every word was gold. Seriously, I was so impressed with the BMW values: unique design, performance, agility. He spoke about how 100hp per liter used to be only attainable by racing engines, about BMWs love of the inline 6 engines, about the 50/50 weight distribution, about the SMG gear box, electronic damping, etc. You almost forgot that BMW makes luxury cars. They were so humble and understated but direct and very clear about their performance goals.
Some of the top BMW guys were there and they stayed to answer questions. I spoke with one of them while we were scrutinizing the Z4 M coupe on display. It was pretty exciting. Most (non-BMW) people probably wouldn't think so, but oh well.

My son is there, and actually sat in the M4 coupe, the bastard! He's out there principally to look for work, and there seems to be a great many manufacturers looking for people as well. Kinda strange, given the situation in Detroit these days...
Wish I was there.
Best,

Are there any other cool cars, specifically race cars on display?
You can see our fsae 05 car at the ATI booth if you're interested.

You have no idea how bad I want to be there as well. I received a flyer from SAE last Dec and I posted about the event here (http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1461294&postcount=1). Got everything signed up, ie air tix, hotel etc. My boss is willing to fund me for the trip partially (long story). Just last week, we decided to rush to submit a paper for a IEEE journal. Now, here I am, in the freaking lab running last minute simulations and editing the paper on LaTex.:(
Those who are there, please take some pics!

I was in business recruitment for the state of Georgia. Now doing something similar at the local level for an urban area.
