Ok so heres the deal. My buddy and I are about to do custom turbo setups on my e34 and his 97 M3. The ? here is cna my M50 engine handle the boost on the stock internals or am I going to break something? I know the M3 has forged internals and a stronger crankshaft? Should I be weary about boosting my m50? Thanks

You can boost the m50. The internals are cast to my knowledge. You can run a low boost set-up with out much problems. The main issue would be tuning of course.

UrineMachine has his m50 supercharged on stock internals. CardCounter is running over 600 whp off of the m52 which has the same internals outside of the cam being forged, he has ARP headstuds and a thicker Headgasket.
