On a 91 850, how do I remove the air conditioning control panel? I figured out how to get the radio part-way out, but getting it all the way out requires disconnecting the cables, and I'm not sure whether that's what's required. Has anyone been there?

The controls for the A/C stick, and I want to disassemble and clean/lubricate the switches.

To access the HVAC Controller you need to remove the center console cover which houses the OBC/Radio/HVAC Controller and Shifter/switches area. Not as bad as it sounds but necessary. The OBC and Radio come out the front but the HVAC controller is secured by 4 screws from the back. If you send me an email at wuffer@shaw.ca I will send you the appropriate section from the repair manual on how to remove this piece.
