Well I had been waiting a while for this encounter.

On a bright and brisk Saturday morning, I merged onto the highway to bring some shirts to the cleaners.
As I enter the right lane of the entrance ramp, I fixate on a Steel Grey M5 doing 85 or so, weaving through light traffic. This was the ideal situation!
I calmly apply 5th, to allow for my engine temps to reach optimal performance levels, and to catch up to 400 hp saloon. Luckily the M5 was slowed by some stagnant left lane cruisers(hate these guys), so I caught up. Our speeds were now reduced to 65mph.
This gave me a chance to role my windows up, get the Valantine One armed, traction control off and both hands at 10:00 and 2:00 on the wheel.
This was a familiar stretch of road with no hideouts, so no chance of Johnny Law raining on this Bavarian parade.

At this point my palms got clammy, my heart raced, and I focused my full attention on my surroundings. We cleared the traffic, and the road opened up to a 2 mile straightaway. Perfecto!

At this point I was in 4th gear at 4grand, which is the heart of a blown S52 powerplant.
ROUND 1:
POOF! The classic little cloud of black smoke emerged from the quad piping of the massive saloon. I was approx. 1.2 car lengths behind, and I mashed my fun pedal to the rug. The revs climbed 4200-4400-4800 ssssssssssss. Water Alcohol injected!
The revs were climbing fast, my neck was fighting the Gs, and there was no way that 4000lb car was pulling on my 3000lb tiger. Power to weight was in my corner, cause I pulled him in confidently.
At 6800rpms, I was at his door shifting and pulling determinedly.
He then realized his situation, and dropped his anchor...
Amazing!

I peered back in the rear view now that I regained double digit speeds, and I saw the M5 charging hard!

ROUND 2: I reopened the gates, as M5 was blasting by at full bore! He put a little distance on me, as I reached my zone, then the pulling stopped for a moment. Then it was my turn... I held it down and shifted fast as I pulled him right back in... Not today my friend... It required a serious effort, and skirting speeds of 130+ put I got him back.
He let off. It was clear that even with a running start he was not dominating this event.

I waved the other driver respectfully, as I veered off onto my exit.
No shortage of Adrenaline here!!:b_hot

Thanks for tuning in!

LOL, I bet he was wondering how the heck he lost to an M Coupe. Great kill (twice), Greg. :)

Sweet double kill Greg! M5ers are probably some of the most cockiest, arrogant MFs I've ever encountered, well except for my colleague here at work. You made a fellow Couper proud.
