Hey whats goin on everyone....well i'm new here and first of all let me introduce myself. My name is Kosta and i drive a 2001 BMW 330Ci. Now that we got that out of the way i have a question. My 330Ci has the steptronic transmission in it and i was wondering if i could get a M3 steering wheel and have it wired to the padel shift set-up...now i that something that could be done or is my idea completely far'fetched?

It is doable, if pricey. You need an M3/SMG wheel and slip ring, a two wire cable to hook into the shifter harness, and may need an air bag. http://www.bmw-paddleshift-retro.com/ has kits available with instructions. If you already have the right air bag (and I think a Ci will) the kit will cost under $1000.

I've fitted the kit to my 525i and I think the results are well worth the cost. The improvement in the driving experience has to be experienced to be appreciated. I seldom used D or DS before I installed the SMG wheel and I've never used either of those modes since. Paddle shifts are a big win at the track. Your hands never leave the wheel and the torque converters ability to soak up shift transients allow shifting anywhere, even after an apex while tracking out under WOT.
