I went to this last summer & there were over 250 imports there, some very kewl. But I was one of only a couple beamers. I'd like to meet some of the other local bfc'ers, so come on out, it's free & I'll try & save a corral parking area for BMWs. I'm in the Alpine White 97 M3. Reply to this thread if you think you can make it, so I have an idea of how many & who to look out for. Kinda like this format...

Scrappydoo, I'm looking for Porter Cable pads too. Did you find a local source with good pricing? I recall some place in Burnaby could order them?

Try Lake Country Pads, they are much better than the Porter Cable pads. You can choose different levels of pads for the type of cutting/polishing action you want to perform.

I bought some before in the States at:
http://www.properautocare.com/porcabpolac.html

I've never tried to source a local supplier though.

Wow, that's a sweet site of info on pads for my PC. Have you tried the Constant Pressure Orange Pad they recommend? Sounds just like what I need.

I use the white pads for cleaning and then another for polishing and I use the red for wax. I buff with a microfiber on top of lambswool. The buffing with microfiber at the end makes an unbelievably smooth finish.

On my other car I just wax (red) and buff (microfiber) and it's amazing.

I also have the yellow pads but never used them because I decided not to use it because I don't think I have enough skill to use something as aggressive as that.

I never looked at the orange until you mentioned it and it actually looks like what I need too.

The pads last virtually forever with a good cleaning after every use and I found I can do each step with one pad.

Hellrotvic, where's the pic taken in your avatar?

Next time your detailing the car with the PC I'd like to watch & learn from you. Where in Vancity are you?

The pic was taken in Columbus, Ohio. I was living there for a few years before I moved back to Vancouver (since August last year). I'm now in Richmond.

Actually I'm not that good at detailing. I've only read and put together what I could and tried it on my car. I was actually pretty satisfied with the results so I stuck with it. I'm sure others are way better than me, I wasn't prepared to spend any more time than a day doing the polishing and waxing of my car so the results caould have been mediocre but enough to make me happy.

This write was the one that really helped me out:

Then I went to look for pads and found that properautocare.com place and asked them some questions (they were very helpful) and decided to buy my pads from them.

I've only used my PC for about a year so I'm no where close to being good.
