View Full Version : OKC autoX april 2nd
sxevegan 03-31-2006, 06:54 PM If you want to drive then you have to register BEFORE 8:30am. I usually show up around 7:30 or 8:00. That gives you a little extra time to walk the course, make any last minute changes to your car, and socialize/talk trash :stickoutt
If you want to just come out and watch, feel free to do so. The first car is supposed to hit the track at 9:00 but in all honesty things don't usually kick off until 10:00 or so. 99.9% of the people there are very friendly and more than willing to give you rides around the course. (honestly, riding with someone else is just about 90% as exciting as driving...actually, with some of the drivers out there it is even MORE exciting than driving). I know that I usually take a passenger every run and Bob will probably be willing to take a few also (unless I'm beating him, then he needs to keep the weight of the car down). :D
Last event we had at least 6 BMWs running out there..and thats not counting the minis. If you count the Minis then we had about 321644446468.So in short, whether you want to race or watch, come out and have some good cheap fun with us. And don't forget your sunscreen!
edit: i just looked to see how many bimmers pre-registered. As of right now there will be 7 BMWs and 5 Minis.

It's in the NW parking lot at Remington Park.

Wish you could have made it. The weather was perfect! :D
sxevegan 04-03-2006, 05:45 PM it was a great course too...it sucks you had to miss it :(
ColoRoadster 04-03-2006, 06:57 PM Oh, the course was absolute heaven. It was open enough that you actually had enough room to open the car up a bit. The little cars that are set-up like go karts usually do really well on the short tracks but this one was open enough that if you had it, you could actually use some horsepower.

leak down/compression test?? head gasket already? :shifty
Grant01 04-03-2006, 11:18 PM have you guys ever considered using the shierff training course on Air Depot? i know its hard to get but its a fun track

It's fun but it's not very condusive to a "solo II" course as there isn't much "safe" run-off compared to a wide open parking lot. For the smaller numbers that the vette and p-car clubs usually draw it's perfect since it closes at 2 but with the number of cars that usually show at the scca events we rarely get done by 3 and usually later than that.

or 5:50:D
the sheriff's training center is a blast! I'd love to have a group of bimmers go out there and run for a few hours.
I agree with bob though....it's not a great place for a full scale scca autox.
Grant01 04-04-2006, 12:33 AM o i didnt realize the autoX was a scca ya that changes things
i went out there with porsche clud back in febuary 05 with my Acura Legend Sedan, i had a blast, and got 11miles to the quarter of a tank!!!!!!
i think a small meet of 20 or so would be fun

iflytii 04-04-2006, 08:44 PM For those who missed it, here is the course from this past weekend. I hit 3rd on the back straight and had to let off before the finish to get it shut down... :evil2
