El duderino, how would this unit compare to that Denon you were moving? And why have I never heard of that piece before?

The Denon R10 is not a removable face, and was only imported for a short time. It is NOT the flagship that the Z1 was, btw, but is a very nice counding CD player.

The 500 is removable face, the face is nice plastic and not aluminum like the Denon nose, and it plays MP3s, which the Denon does not, and it costs $750 MSRP, which is why I don't stock any, special order only. For $250 more than the 400 you get more selectable colors and MP3 ability.

it will sit behind the fold down panel so the removal face is not a concern, mp3 however is. Thank you for your info. JS

Also, do you by chance know of a Nak dealer in the Cleveland Oh area that I could check that unit out at? I will buy it from you if you can get it I just would like to play with it and actually see it before i throw down that kind of cheese on it. TY, JS

If you get to see a CD 400, it's the same tooling with more colors.

i'm assuming yes. my 45z has aux in, the 400 has aux in....

does it support CD-TEXT? or any other nak's?

does it use those same rca dongles like the 400? or hard mounted like the 45

Reviving this from the dead...

I'm about to go in on a CD-500 and wanted some impressions.....and yes I searched with no definitive input.

I ended up getting a CD-400 and am very happy with it. Same thing as the 500 except no mp3 capability. The aux in is great for my ipod.
