I'm looking into doing a Magnaflow muffler set on the M Roady but Magnaflow doesnt make a full catback system for the Roadster, just the M3. I'd like to find a shop that does good mandrel bending in OKC. If you arent familiar with it, mandrel bending is a method of bending the exhaust without making kinks in the exhaust that shrink the internal diameter. Has anyone had any mandrel bending done or know where I can get it done. If it's not a good professionally done job, I'm not going to bother.

I wasn't able to find anyone in OKC that had a "real" mandrel bender. Not to say there aren't any but I ended up just ordering SS mandrel bends and welding them together. That's probably going to be your best bet and there is certainly nothing wrong with it as it will make an excellent exhaust.

I used www.stainlessworks.net for all my straight and bends.

Have you looked at:

Dinan
Tri-Flow
Remus
SuperSprint

?? They all make bolt-ons for the m-roadster.

Univerity Muffler uses mandrel bent pipes. my buddy robin had that done to his 240 when his sr20 motor was put in. wherever jed went for his, they use crimple i think but its not even that bad...not as many bends so it doesnt crimple to bad

noone in OKC has a mandrel bend machine (at least muffler shops). University Muffler and Performance Muffler in Norman both just take mandrel bent joints and weld them to regular piping (like bob did).

If you want something custom made, I'd take your car to performance muffler in Norman. They are cheap and do good work. Most of the people from OKS use them. I chose to spend a little more money and buy one pre-fabbed from a good name brand. It took about 30 minutes to swap the two cat-backs and I was done. IMO that is the best way to go.

performance muffler = awesome.

for my 280Z they fabbed an entire exhaust from the header back, 2.5" - for $50. I supplied my own muffler.

When one of their welds leaked about 8 months afterward, they fixed it no charge, without even seeing a receipt.

performance muffler +1. they did a custom job from my header back. my job had quite a few custome welds and a center resonator. i supplied my muffler. i think all together it was $120!

I'm definitely down if you guys say they do good work, but I have to make some pretty steep bends and with a normal machine it's going to kink real bad. What I may end up doing is buying the mandrel bends from the place Bob suggested, then having them do the rest of the work
