Has anyone installed the H&R springs on there X5? I want some first hand experience on ride quality, performance, and any other comments. I'm considering this mod for better handling and lower stance. Thanks.

Also, what are the differences, if any, between the 4.4 and 4.8is stock suspensions. Thanks.

I have an 03 4.4 sport, stock has the air bags in the rear and standard springs in the front. I installed the H&R on mine and like them except it lowers the front about half an inch more than the rear. I was hoping for a even stance but she is lower in the front. Im searching for a way to drop the rear about 3/4 of an inch. the ride is pretty comparable to the 03 and earlier sport, Im told the 04 and on have a much better feeling sport ride. sometimes I think it is too low and other times I think it isnt low enough, I guess it depends on the angle I am looking from. All in all I am very happy with them, install was very straight forward took me about 4 hours total useing standard tools no I didnt have a spring compressor I where theres a will there is a way!

I think it's called the DIS system. dealers and good independent bmw shops will have it. it can program the rear airbag ride height.
