Does anybody have any feedback on the dinan chip.I was thinking of having it installed on my 95 840 with 105000miles.My mechanic does not recommend it due to the high mileage but car is well taken care of and would really like to get it only if its worth it.Thank you

Sucks:(

Took the one out of my '95 840 the second day I had it and replaced it with a Euro one that actually made faster than stock.

Their transmission chip is good though.

What is your build date (Sticker on end of door) Many '95s are not directly chippable.

The build date is 7/94 and if not directly chippable does this mean it cannot be chipped at all.Whats your feeling with the mileage on the car(105000) and should this effect my decision on installing it.Also do you mean the euro chip is better than dinan and if so where can you get them.

Yours is chippable:). They built in a security code early in 1995 to stop chipping and in 1996 they soldered in the chip:eek:

Wokke 2000 is the seller of a European chip for the 840 that will pass emissions here in the states. The 540/740/840 chips are identical so you can buy any of them.

For reference IIRC the Dinan chip is about 296 HP.

I have one in my 840 (144,000 miles) and had one in a 740 before that. :):):):)

Thanks Terry i just ordered one from ebay and when i get the other problem sorted out i look forward to the performence upgrade. Is there anything to watch for on installation or is pretty straightforward. What is the max speed acheived on your 840?In safe conditions (dry,no traffic) i have had mine up to about 145mph.I think there was a little more left in her but had to back off.Regards

Just be careful opening the boards up after you have the box open.

I don't think that I have been over 100 in mine. I will have owned it for 3 years at the beginning of May.

It is set up as an Urban Street Fighter but then I don't street race either.

I must just enjoy driving it :):) but I do like the feeling of accelleration:):):)

I am using DINAN ECU and Tranny Software. I would have gone Conforti but for my 97 model it is not available. My DINAN chip gives me more torque than the Conforti chipped 850.

Anyone ever heard of or used a Jet Performance Products chip in their 8? I have one in my Ford F-150 but don't want to put one in my 8 without maybe hearing some feedback. They have a website... let me know what you guys think or if you've heard anything.
