Anyone know why my 95 840 is stalling at 3500rpm.All cylinders working fine and just replaced the crankshaft position sensor and my mechanic {European car doctor}who is excellent cannot seem to figure it out.It only happens when you give the car alot of gas.It used to happen only when the car was cold but now happens all the time. Also my traction control and antilock light are coming on all the time.Any input would be great and Happy ST Patricks Day to you all.
Thankyou Bigdub Boston.

If it is stalling at 3500 and the lights come on when it stalls I would guess that the traction control is shutting the seconddary throttle.
First question on this is Tire Sizes? More than 3% difference in diameter will trigger an ABS warning. If you are at big throttle when it does that, ASC will kick in and retard the timing-If that fails to correct the condition it shuts the secondary throttle plate and the engine is forced back to Idle no matter what you are telling it to do.

A bad wheel speed sensor would also cause an ABS alarm.

This is the test for the ABS/ASC

ASC Error Code Fetch Procedure:
1) Depress and hold brake pedal
2) Depress and hold ASC switch
3) Turn ignition key to ON (2 position)
4) Read number of flashes on ASC lamp
Error codes as follows:
1 No errors
2 EML throttle control
3 DME shutdown control
4 L/R wheel sensor
5 R/R wheel sensor
6 R/F wheel sensor
7 L/F wheel sensor
8 DME ignition/timing control
9 DME feedback control
10 ASC/MSR control unit fault

I am presumimg that fuel filters are good and the fuel pump is pumping the correct pressure and volume.

One other thought in the dark here. Have them unplug the DME for a couple of minutes and letting all of the memory clear. Then try it again.

Thanks Terry but had no luck in actual fact when i started car today it would not rev past 1500rpm until it warmed up and continues to stall out when pushed past 3500rpm.I showed your response to my mechanic and he said he had done what you said but to no avail.I will leave car with him next week and hopefully he can figure it out but any input will be appreciated. Thanks

Air flow meter and the CPS that was just replaced would be my next checks. Oh and check that the throttle plate for the traction control in the metal elbow past the AFM is wide open and connected.
