Well guys I think Best buy is going to have to replace my camcorder ( Panasonic DV hi8 ) I bough this camcorder about 3 years ago and I got a service plan with it, so last weekend I was going to edit some video in my PC at home and as soon as I plug it in to the outlet wall smoke came out of it.

Long story short, if they give me the credit to get another one, I was thinking going with a DVD camcorder, but I was wandering if any of you guys have had any issues on the track?

Whatever I get it will be for track only and a party here and there.....

I'm thinking going w/ a DVD SONY or CANON.

I havn't personally used one, but you may want to test out the JVC camcorder that records straight to a hard drive. This would make editing a breeze, no tapes to buy or rewind, and no mini dvd's laying around.
