I have two brand new 17x8 bbs rc motorsport edition wheels in their boxes that came along with my m3 when i bought it.

my plan was to buy two more 17x8 rc through a friend. i didn't think anything special of the motorsport edition on the wheel, i thought that just the cap was different that year when they made it. just today i was reading threads and I noticed people mentioning that the motorsport edition has a different finish to it (champagne silver instead of regular silver). i googled and searched all over the site but i couldn't find any good information about it.

how much different is the finish from the regular silver, i don't want two different colored wheels on my car :(

does anybody have a good picture comparing the two colors or something like that?

:help

it's different enough.

I wouldn't get different colored wheels personally lol

One is a Brilliant Silver that has a polished look to it. Looks sharp when clean. The other is regular Painted Silver IIRC. Imagine a LTW wheel, one polished and the other painted silver and you will get the idea.

Good Luck. I'd just find 2 trashed 17x8 BBS RCs and have them refinished to math your special ones.

The Motorsport Edition comes in the "Champagne" color only IIRC. It has a... champagne hue. I can't seem to find many pics of the Motorsport Editions on e36's :dunno

niether one looks polished at all. there is a polished version of the rc wheel also. the motorsport is also paint and like mentioned already has the champagne hue.

i was able to side by side compare them and yeah they are different. the paint job on the motorsport version is far better (no waves in the paint) then on the regular ones i compared it to.

any idea where i could find a wheel like this? bbs obviously doesn't carry it anymore. they have a few 17x8 regulars though. i can barely find people selling any 17x8 version of the wheel :(

dump them all and get RCJs. They look better than RCs and RC motorsports
