I just thought I'd share my personal experience with Umnitza.

These just came in today:

I got them through Matt at Umnitza. I didn't really have any plans to get such nice wheels, but when he told me about the prices, I simply could not say no. You would die if you knew what I spent on these BRAND NEW 18" LMs. I'm seeing used wheels in the FS section go for way more than I paid for these. If you're in the market for BBS wheels, I really suggest you shoot Matt an email.

There was a little trouble getting payment through, because the mail simply decided to take two weeks to deliver my check. I ended up sending Matt another check, thinking the other one got lost in the mail. The two checks ended up arriving on the same day, so to reassure me that I'd only be paying once, Matt PM'd me a photo of him ripping up one of the checks. :D

The wheels had to be shipped from BBS in Germany, which is obviously a long process, with customs and whatnot. Matt kept me updated every step of the way, and even pestered BBS to find out where the wheels were in their journey.

Anyways, I know people have had their troubles with Umnitza, and I know some other people just love to have something to yell about. But I couldn't find something to be upset about this transaction if I tried. I think there's a lot that can go wrong when it comes to car lighting. Whether it's faults in the product, or faults in the car's wiring.
But I know that in this transaction, Matt did everything possible to make this a very satisfying purchase. I'd definitely buy again.

Beautiful wheels! put those on and come out to the meets!

I recently (2weeks ago) dealt with matt/umnitza for some lightning upgrades and had no problems. His customer service seems great.

Can't go wrong with LMs. I originally wanted the gold center LMs but was told the waiting time was 6-12 months.

Might be able to beat that. Are you talking about GT2s?

No, just LMs with gold center. It's ok though, I got fed up with hearing the wait time so I decided to buy other mods. With the little I had left over I bought some koseis. When I do decide to get LMs later, I will ask you then Matt. Just out of curiosity, what did Josh pay for his LMs? He seems to be satisfied with the pricing. sure it does, both countries (japan & germany) have the tightest tolerances for wheel manufacturing of any other country. i am not suggesting that wheels from japan are inferior (they are definitely not by the likes of volk, work, SSR, advan, etc..)

i guess tirerack got their info wrong then.....

Caveat Emptor

Umnitza gets his specially made in Germany. Only for him though. He has the email to prove it.

we were mistaken.
since the wheels shipped directly from germany, we assumed incorrectly that they were made there as well.
LMs are apparently only made in Japan along with other forged wheels in the BBS line.

Man, I'm so jealous! I wish I would have had the extra cash to get some BBS from Umnitza when I got new wheels. Anyone interested should definitely e-mail Matt. His prices are insane! :eyecrazy

I just want to give my support and respect to Umnitza for their outstanding products and amazing customer service. i recently purchased ZKW's with 6500k Chromiums preinstalled, with PnP and Stoneguard and 6500k HID lowbeams kit, and their CF air intake for my 1997 328is. initially i was struggling with the installs but after a few phone calls and emails to Umnitza i was able get everything installed and working 100%. it all looks so good on my car and i will definitely recommend Umnitza to anyone who is looking for a great product and excellent customer service. :buttrock

Those are the BBS wheels that are actually made by OZ Racing in a joint venture that only one vendor knows about in the entire BMW world!
