I'm thinking of doing a group buy... Aluminum Radiators for our cars. (These will also fit E39 540s and 750s) The product should be available soon.
Figure somewhere in the $450 range shipped. Any Interest? I'd need about 10 people to make it work.

Are they Griffin Radiators?

No, these are PWR, made in Australia. One of our customers has one in a Forced Induction E36 and loves it.

Might want to check into Griffin Radiators. There in Greenville Sout Carolina. We are doing a group buy on Rennlist for the 951 (944 Turbo). They are second to none in quality and they will be a lot less for shipping. Just a thought. Talk to Dennis. Great people.

Our price includes shipping as well as a lifetime warranty John.
PWRs have a fantastic reputation as well. Not to mention they are in stock and ready to ship. There's a friend of mine on this board who once had to wait quite a while for a replacement Griffin.

whats the advantage to an aluminum radiator to a normal plastic one

Better heat dissipation, but for our cars, the main advantage is strength. The OEM Radiators are aluminum cores with plastic on the ends... they frequently break at the upper hose neck, the hose snaps off and if you don't catch it VERY quickly you can ruin the engine.
These do not break.

I don't know if BMW does the same thing, but does the transmission cooler run throught the radiator, and is there two versions of the radiator then? I am converting to 6spd when the money start growing on the tree in the back, so I wanna spend it wisely before it dies ;)
