I have Teilmeister run a history report on a car and it stated the CPO warranty was pending? Does anyone know what this means. I called the dealer and they said that the CPO warranty was valid. I am just curious.

Thanks,

Tim

Guess it means that the car is still under warranty for a certain number of years or miles whichever comes first. Ask the dealer or seller how many more years/miles does it have left.

100k mles and 7years from in-service date. That's the date the car was picked up from the dealer. Any dealer should be able to tell you when the CPO ends.

EDIT: 6 years not 7 thanks for the catch, bbrc76.

I would assume it means that the original 48 month / 50k mile is still covering the car from its original in-service date. BMW still considers it "pending" because the CPO warranty does not apply until the first warranty expires. For some reason, BMW's info goes to great length to point this out - in fact, almost as much length as they go to explaining what's covered by the CPO warranty.

100k miles and 7 years? I thought it was 6 years?

You are correct 6 years. Sorry.

I agree with the above reasoning behind "pending".
