The odometer discrepency has to be an error? That is 140,000 miles in 2 years? I cant see that being correct...
Think someone misread the odometer? Or entered it incorrectly?
M3Bill 03-06-2006, 06:34 PM Has to be a mistake....there is just no way!
7 hours of driving per day for a year... I could do it.
The problem would be the 2 timing belt and cap and rotor changes, ~5 spark plug/air filter changes, ~3 valve adjustments, new guibo and CSB and 30+ oil changes.

keeptheuroalive 03-06-2006, 07:12 PM I wouldn't trust it. I have a friend that might be selling his E30 real soon if you are looking for one. I think he said he would let it go for under $1000. I'll talk to him this week about it.
rneily 03-07-2006, 11:06 AM I'm waiting for the guy to get back to me so that I can go and take a look. We'll see what happens...
kesleke 03-07-2006, 12:19 PM Well it did happen in Marietta. I would say someone is a little dyslexic.
M Junkie 03-07-2006, 05:47 PM could of had a new cluster put in shortly after the 195k reading and ran it up to 68k
joecoolinatl 03-07-2006, 06:01 PM im on e30 #3. the odo's go bad so often in these its not even funny, im on odo # 4 in this car, (all used) because the factory tiny soft plastic gears start to break apart.
rneily 03-07-2006, 06:05 PM The guy says he's got documentation to support that it only had 119k, we'll see. I am going to try and go and see it this weekend.
I just dont really need another car right now. This will be car #4, one of them will have to go... I just have allways wanted an E30.
EvilClassic 03-07-2006, 06:42 PM Do it.

rneily 03-10-2006, 07:47 PM Ok, So I went to see the car. The guy wants $3500 for it (says he allready has a buyer at that price, we will see.
Anyways,
It has a HORRIBLE Maaco Paint Job on it. Kinda a cosmos black (black but sparkles). There is over spray all over it, and the guy said that Maaco painted it twice. Once totally black, and then again with the sparkle. It's an 87, so the rubber bumper cover things even have paint on them.
It was silver origionally, I really wish he wouldnt of painted it, or at least re-painted it the origional color. The door jambs were painted, but not anywhere in the trunk or the hood. There was absolutely no rust anywhere. I looked all over the engine, under neath the doors, in the trunk, and in the rear tail lights.
He did a self break job, and the breaks were terrible! Very mushy, and once they warmed up, it had a bad vibration.
Lately, the previous owner painted the intake and the valve cover with blue paint. Rattle can, half ass job. Over spray on all the throttle brackets etc etc. Engine ran strong, it was chipped, but it did seem to have a small oil leak.
Interior was OK. Nothing great. Everything seemed to work. Passenger side window would skip teeth when it was rolling up.
I ended up leaving telling him that I wouldnt do $3500 and I'd think about it.
I'm thinking now that there is no way in hell unless he comes off the price considerably. There is just no way to fix that paint. He might be interested in a trade for my old Jeep Wrangler.
Any comments?
95m3Lightweight 03-10-2006, 08:02 PM $1500 at best IMO.
There are many $500-1000 E30's that need either new head or electrical stuff otherwise good shape cars. For $3500 it should be in really good shape.

It's an i? I would never pay more than $1000 for ANY eta, unless it has an i motor.

1988 325is. 119k on the Odometer, but unsure if it's correct. (Check my first post for the Carfax)
rneily 03-13-2006, 11:58 AM The car sold for a whopping $3800. There are suckers everywhere... Thanks for all the advice!
Wow. Just... wow.
I wouldn't pay that much for a clean e30.

rneily 03-13-2006, 12:03 PM Yah, I thought he wanted to work a trade for an old Jeep I have, but he sold it before I could show it to him.
I can't blame him, for $3800, I'd be quick to sell as well...
