I've got a sports pack suspension for my wagon that I would like to put on. I've had some work done at Priore's and he's been very honest and helpful. So, I was planning on getting it done there. Any other suggestions on places to go (or more importantly, where not to go). I had my CDV taken out at Autoscope but I'll probably avoid that place given the bad pub here. Thanks in advance.

I dont think I would avoid them because they wrote down a number wrong. I have had many things done there with no issue.

What is a sports pack suspension? If its a stock sports pagack suspension, i wouldnt bother. Its not going to make much of a difference.

Thanks for the advice. The suspension is an oem sports package suspension and yes, I know it won't make that big of a difference. It's a long story but here's the deal, I wanted to buy used a couple of years ago and I couldn't find a manual wagon with sports package anywhere in the country. So I bought one without and my goal (hobby really) is to gradually convert it into a sp car (seats are next in fact, if anyone has any they want to trade or sell!). Furthermore, there aren't too many aftermarket upgrades that are trully compatible with the wagon suspension. I called Eibach for instance, and they could not recommend their suspension and the Dinan setup is way too much. I bought my sp suspension lightly used for around $300 so it isn't a huge investment. Oh and it has a story of it's own as it was taken off for the M3 wagon conversion Rogue Engineering did not too long ago. Not that cool, I know.

Wow that's a very generous offer! I've heard the rear suspension is a bear to get to on the wagon but I'll look into it. If you are willing I'd love to take you up on it. Dinner and drinks on me afterwards!

I wouldnt think it is too bad, maybe someone can chime in. I've had the suspension out of my m3 3-4 times. All it really is, is a spring and shock swap. If you got the whole thing, the strut assemblies should already be put together should go pretty fast. If you have the sways they might take some extra time.

Is it the same offer for coilovers???

Fronts are already assembled so that should be just a swap. I think gaining access to the rear takes some interior disassembly. I can work on that part before bringing it over.

you will also need an alignement after the new suspension.

OK on the alignment - do you have an alignment shop that you like by your place by chance? Oh, I don't know if anyone is in the market but Bentley manuals seem to be on sale right now. I'd love to post the link but I can't. I just bought one from Buy.com for around $79.

I'll pay you to QC my coil-overs. I had them installed at NTB and I don't think it's right.

what coilovers and what kind of car?

As far as the alignement goes, you can drive the car without one for a few days, but you may get some tire wear. I have used Autoscope for the last 5-6 alignements I have got on the M3. They run about $120, but they have done great work to my specs.

My weekends are shot through April, so I only have weeknights to do this. Springtown, I might be able to take a look at yours tonight. After 6. PM me.

i got my suspension install done at PRiore's, v honest guy and does v good work. I got my clutch and flywheel done at autoscope, they are also v good. The other post about autoscope is just a misunderstanding, I am sure lots of ppl will vouch for Nerces and his shop.

I heard Priore sold the place...I was hoping it was just a nasty rumor. Anyone know if that's true or not? When I don't feel like tackling something on my own I take it to him. I haven't been in months though. He and his guys are great. They have done both front wheel bearings and a lower control arm for me.

I'm still researching how to access the rear shocks towers. I'm probaby going to install some new shock mounts so if I want to upgrade in the future it isn't a big production.

CABimmer

and yes if you go with a GC mount you can do it all from under the car.

Turns out you have to remove all of the rear cargo area interior and then you have to get through insulation which is glued down. I don't think BMW wanted people messing with the suspension on the touring. I'm not ginving up though damn it.
