Is it hard to polish an m10 valve cover I seen them chromed on ebay they look so nice.

It takes alot of elbow grease, but it can be done at home fairly simply.

Wet sandpaper. Drill. Wire brush for aluminium. Power ball for wheels. Some quality Aluminium polish. 5 to 20 hours.

Mine took about 10-15 hours. Its not the polishing thats the labor. Its smooting out the rough on the whole cover itself. Your fingers will hate you for about 2 weeks. It would be much easier if the ribs, lettering, BMW, and roundel were not there.

Its a great look if you pull it off, however the next one I do will be powder coated black, along with everything else.

Do not chrome it, IMO it looks like ass. That and I would assume it would cost about $200-$250 to do so.

I got mine done and it looks great. Only cost me a 6pack too!

I'll do mine tomorow since i got some power tools,polishng compounds, and plenty of time. Maybe sell later.

monkey sanding good! I feed him bananas and stuff.

All the way from grit 80 t0 2000. 600 grit right now
