Hi guys, I just bought a 06 X5 3.0i with all the options. I took my BMW to the dealer and they had ordered a cradle for my V557 phone and put it in. I was going to use bluetooth and they were supposed to set it up. Well they couldn't get it to accept that my phone was there. My phone realized the bluetooth in the car was there, but it would come up "unable to connect." I even tryed it myself at home and still no luck. Has anyone had this problem before, do I need a new phone?, is there a bluetooth update that my dealer needs, or is it my incompetent BMW dealer that has done something wrong to my BMW again?! I have had it for 11 days now and 5 of those days it has been at the dealer for just a phone!

Please help me! I don't know what to do and neither does my dealer.

Thanks, BMW X5 3.0i.

are you pairing both the car AND the phone at the same time? not just the car to find the phone?, hit the pairing button, on the nav screen (if it has it) you will see the message "pairing phone", got to your phone menu, select the bluetooth function, hit " find" or "connect", at that point you will see some green light flash in the car, it will prompt you to create a passkey ( phone side), use any combination numbers you can rememnber easily, after that the car will ask you for a bluetooth passkey (supplied by the dealer), it's in the owner's manual, enter it, you're done, if all else fails you got a bad bluetooth antenna.

Thanks for your input man, for some reason the bluetooth would not reach up in the drivers seat and when I took it back to the bluetooth box in the back, it instantly connected. It works fine now, even from the driver's seat, so I am finally happy that I don't have to take it back to the stealership.

dude, how did you get it to work if it only worked in the back seat? Did you add an amplifier to it or something? Will your X5 bluetooth work with an iPod? By that I mean, can my ipod, with the bluetooth adapter hooked up to it, actually play over the car stereo system?

Glad you got it to work. I also have an '06 X5 AND the V557 and have had no problems pairing the phone to the car and vice versa.

I'm not sure you'll be able to pair two bluetooth items at the same time. I know that my phone is the primary in my car, so it pairs first but if my phone is off or isn't in the car my husbands will pair. They won't both be paired, though.

My iPod is connected to the stereo and sits in my glove box. It works with stereo control and steering controls. It doesn't list song invo so I just put it on random and flip through the songs. I want to say you can make up to 6 playlists.
