So i want to install a true over car speakers blue tooth in my 94 325is. I say an adapter that would plug into my Kenwood Sirius port and convert them to rcas. Anyone have experience wit this. Do you think my cd player will switch to that satellite mode when nit activates? Or will i have to change the source?

Hi,
The BMW Bluetooth system is for the I bus based BMWs as shown here www.bimmernav.com but if you are near Austin, Tx let me know, as I would be happpy to look at your car's phone wiring and see if it was at all possible to put the BMW system in an E36.
It works perfectly in the E46, E38, E39, X5, X3, Z4, Z3, and Z8
Regards,
Martin

I have the parrot system in my M3, I can hear people very well but they have problems hearing me. It could be related to me using the mic from a different handsfree kit though.

Have the parrot CK3100 kit and people can hear me just fine. I tried to tap into my aftermarket head unit which connects to the stock amp and it just was never loud enough. I put a old car cell phone speaker under the dash and now it works great. You can't see the speaker without sticking your head under there and people dont hit it with their feet. This was was MUCH easier than dealing with trying to tap into the stock speakers.

If you have the HK system in your E36, you can tap into the front drivers side woofer as it is a DVC. It could be used instead if your bluetooth kit has a powered speaker output such as some motorola's.
If you have an afermarket head unit, you could possibly use the bluetooth's mute wire with a relay to shut off power to the factory amp when someone calls. It would take some skills but is possible.

I've got a Parrot CK3100 in my 97 328i. It goes through the speaker and does a 20db mute on my stereo (may be a function of my head (Alpine CDA-9835)). Since I don't have heated seats or the HK sound, I moved the traction control switch to the far left and the alarm LED to the far right, and mounted the parrot control in between, flushed into the panel in front of the shifter. The mic is at the top of the driver's side a-pillar. Looks and sounds great.

Most aftermarket headunits have a phone mute wire that either mutes the radio completely or drops the volume. Its set in the menu.
