Greetings,

On my '71 '02 there is distinct rattle/knock coming from the driver's side(USA)front suspension. This annoying noise is magnified when a passenger is in the car and especially when driving over expansion joints on bridges, "wash board" types of bumps in the road and railroad tracks ect...ect...The car has tii front struts, Bilstien HD's and H&R springs..all fairly new stuff within the past five years. The rest of the car's suspension rides quiet and normal. Please advise as to what this noise could possibly be and how it can be fixed. Thanks in advance and happy '02ing!

I have had the same problem forever and still cant figure it out. Mine is not really rattling, when it happens its just a single knock if I hit a bump and can feel the vibration on my left foot. I have coilovers in front so if we are experiencing the same knock, the source may not be the suspension setup. I know its not my hub or the bearing on top of the shock for the adjustble camber plates. Car drives fine, its just annoys me

check the sway bar hasnt slipped out of its bracket position it happened to me a few times. I had to bend it up a little so it would slip. There is a lip that hold the bracket that really isnt suffecient.

Try the actual strut bolt..happened to me in my e21 320 after putting my new drop in way back (Bilstein sports/B&G springs) never torq'd them down completly. haha

i have the exact same problem ... i couldnt figure it out. so i jacked it up and checked and noticed that the strut bolts are a little loose. so im thinking that might fix it. ill just order some new bolts from bavauto for 40$ and i hope it will be solved.

any other ideas are apriciated and i will let you know if that fixes the problem
