Looks like I've lost my jump start block (piece that's on the passenger side firewall). Don't know if this is something that is readily available at the dealer. But, would you guys know of a way for me to either make my own connection box or purchase something from a street rod/high performance shop?

Also, on my emergency disconnnect switch...I've lost those instructions. Could someone tell me where to run the wires?

Thanks,

Ken Arutunian

And why do you need an engineer for this? ;)

Whats your emegency disconnect switch, you mean the main kill switch?

LOL...ummmm yeah, that thing too! The kill switch :redspot

Any ideas for making the connection from the battery lead to the fuse box, starter, etc?

Thanks,

Ken

If it's a race car, i would just leave the jump start block out... if I remember correctly, it just goes directly to the + terminal on the battery in the trunk. Unless the rules require it... (not sure).

Battery disconnect between the positive terminal and everything else.

edit: some orgs have different rules on how you wire up a fire extinguisher system... you should check on that one...

Well, that block also serves as the power supply for the starter and the fuse box.
So, it's not just the jump start function of the box that I'm wanting to keep, it's the main point of connection for those other things I've mentioned.

Hope that makes sense.

Makes sense. I never dealt with it on my M3, so I really didn't know. Maybe try Zionsville and see if they have one out of a wrecked car? www.zionsvilleautosport.com

Ken - If you still want to be able to jump the car easily, I recommend one of these setups:
http://www.hrpworld.com/index.cfm?form_prod_id=813,131,53,363_1196&action=product

You can modify your portable jump box with the male end of the plug and carry it with you to the pits/grid for a quick jump in case your small racing battery gives out. We have ours mounted just inside the passenger door.
